Meeting some Drupal enthusiasts in real life!
Yesterday Olivier (aka Jax) organized a Drupal User Group (DUG) meeting in Brussels. It was my first time to meet some Drupal enthusiast in real life. Roel from Krimson gave a short presentation about Drupal 6. The session was followed with some social time at the bar.
So, what did I get out of it?
Drupal 6 presentation
Roel gave a very broad introduction to the sixth version of Drupal. It was rather superficial which is very understandable giving the audience's diverse background. Still worth attending though, and the future DUG-meetings will dig deeper. We even might get our hands dirty!
Q&A session
For me, this was more interesting since now you could focus on some special issues you're dealing with. I think Q&A sessions are most valuable at these meetings because it enables you to see things from different perspectives. And like life, in Drupal, there are so many different solutions (and modules) to meet specific requirements.
Getting drunk at the bar (not really drunk of course)
Most people stayed at the end for a little chat. I loved it because you get to know the different backgrounds and stuff their dealing with. Main topic of conversation: Drupal of course!
